I think one of the most popular cards I get asked to make is a sympathy card for someone who has lost a pet. Many of the recipients have told me they keep the card with other mementos from their pet's life in a special memory box.
The above card is made with bits of scraps I had in my paper drawers. Pale yellow is such a nice balance for black and really softens the look. I love the "In remembrance" bone and the sheer yellow ribbon with a paw brad in the centre. RIP, Barney.
Truth be told, I hate blogs. At least, I hate the word "blog". Having said that, I thought it might be fun to give it a shot; perhaps it's like children where you're not so fond of others' but you always seem to like your own.
I have in the last few years, and in what little spare time I have, taken up card crafting. I find myself inspired by cards I come across on various websites and...yes...blogs...and hope that the cards I post on this site may offer the same inspiration to others.
I welcome any comments, suggestions or clever banter you wish to post and hope you enjoy my new blog! Thanks for visiting.
I work by day and craft by night...or sometimes craft by day and work at night depending on what shift I'm on. I have two cats, Kenya and Kona -both ragdolls and not the smartest but they make up for it with their good looks. My favourite vacation is a cruise anywhere - I just love being on the ship watching the world go by.
I have been making cards for about 5 years and have basically learned by trial and error. People have suggested I try to sell them through a retail outlet but I think that takes the fun out of the hobby and it becomes more like work. We'll see...retirement is not that far away and who knows what I may do.
